Translated in isiZulu, uBizo means "The Calling" associated with spiritual calling experienced by Sangoma. In Africa, the Sangoma is an intermediary for the ancestors and sacred spirits. A wanderer between the worlds, the practitioner of herbal medicine: a healing shaman, or for some, a feared witch doctor… Living in cities around the world, Dr Bongani uBizo recognised common challenges we all face in this broken world. Pondering why, and what could be done. While on the African east coast, he received his calling to study traditional healing to become a qualified Sangoma. To connect the spiritual and physical worlds achieving an understanding of our place in the great realm and improve our physical world. The Doctor has an open channel of communication with the other side to solve all problems. Using design skills honed prior to his traditional healing career, the Doctor developed uBizo brand, including some eastern, and western folklore imagery to identify with a wider global audience.
